LANSING, MI – Not even two weeks after a man in Butler, Pennsylvania attempted to assassinate President Donald J. Trump on live television, an elderly Trump supporter in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula was brutally attacked with an ATV for putting up Trump yard signs in his lawn.

Political violence is NEVER acceptable, and the man remains in critical condition. Regardless of political party, we should all condemn acts of violence against citizens exercising their constitutional right to free speech.

But Michigan Democrats have been silent on the topic. The Michigan Democratic Party, Chairwoman Barnes, and presumptive Senate Nominee Elissa Slotkin have remained tight lipped.

Why? You should ask them.

“Michiganders everywhere should be disgusted and alarmed by the political violence in the U.P. this week. They should also be disgusted by the lack of empathy, concern, and acknowledgement by our friends in the Democrat Party. This cannot be the new norm in our political system, and it’s up to elected leaders to set the tone that it is not acceptable,” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Pete Hoekstra.
