Burning Cities is Not Okay

Press Releases

Over the last three and a half years, we’ve seen one too many American cities burn to the ground. Our law enforcement have been ridiculed, targeted, and attacked. Far left, ‘progressive’ prosecutors are letting out repeat offenders or refusing to prosecute certain crimes, resulting in a revolving door rather than a justice system.

Every day, law enforcement get up and put on a bulletproof vest. Anti-police rhetoric has been rampant recently, and it’s had a long lasting effect on our men and women in blue. Police departments across the country have been disbanded, defunded, or consistently understaffed.

And Kamala Harris is okay with that.

She praised the “defund the police movement” and repeatedly said that the police should be reimagined.” She doesn’t believe that more police on the streets would make our communities safer, and has supported radical candidates that wanted to cut prison populations in half.

On top of fewer law enforcement officers, Kamala’s vision for America includes no cash bail, a policy that would release dangerous offenders into our communities, and eliminating mandatory minimum sentences.

Michigan hasn’t been immune to this. In 2021, we had four of the 20 most violent cities in the nation, and violent crime rose faster than the national average. In 2022, our violent crime rate remained higher than the national average, with increases in homicides and aggravated assault.

Bottom Line: Americans should be confident that their President prioritizes public safety and supports local law enforcement. President Donald Trump is the only candidate with a record of backing the blue.
