Cox Statement On Whitmer Restaurant Capacity Limit

January 22 2021

LANSING, Mich., January 22, 2021 – The following statement is from Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox, regarding Governor Whitmer’s announcement that restaurants opening February 1st will be limited to 25% capacity and require a 10 p.m. curfew.

“Governor Whitmer continues to cripple restaurants with restrictions that are not rooted in science and only serve to kick businesses while their down. While the Governor is busy taking a new gig as DNC Vice-Chair, she continues to leave employees in the restaurant business out of a job. I call on Governor Whitmer to do the right thing and allow Michigan restaurants to operate at a more reasonable capacity without curfews, so that they can begin to undo the severe damage they have taken because of her shutdowns.”
