MIGOP: Critical Race Theory Has No Place in Michigan Schools

(Lansing, Mich.) – MIGOP Co-Chair Meshawn Maddock released the following statement after Michigan Department of Education State Superintendent Dr. Michael Rice suggested during a State Board of Education meeting that Michigan students should be learning about Critical Race Theory:

“Critical Race Theory encourages students to frame diversity through a racist lens,” said MIGOP Co-Chair Meshawn Maddock. “What has come out through the investigative work of Christopher Rufo and other journalists is shocking. The fact that the Democrat State Superintendent endorses this hateful, anti-American, vehemently racist curriculum as beneficial to our school system – when in fact it is a divisive tool deployed by the left to further fracture us – is a disgrace. We cannot allow this type of radical indoctrination to infiltrate our education system. This is exactly why we will continue fighting to defeat Governor Whitmer’s liberal agenda at the ballot box next November.”
