Granholm Has Conflict Of Interest In Energy Appointment

January 22 2021

LANSING, Mich., January 22, 2021 – According to reports earlier this week by ABC News, President Biden’s nominee for Energy Secretary, former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, has millions of dollars in energy investments. This is a troubling revelation, as she prepares to face confirmation hearings in the Senate.

“Michigan has a lot of experience with Jennifer Granholm putting her own interests over the interests of the people she serves, and this new revelation shows she has not changed since being Governor of Michigan.” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Laura Cox. Cox continued, “In light of this conflict of interest, I call on the Senate to reject her nomination as Energy Secretary and for President Biden to pick a more suitable candidate who will represent the interests of the American people over their own financial interests.”
