Corrupt Carl Marlinga Mulling Illegal Run Against Republican John James
LANSING, MICH – The Michigan Republican Party, on Wednesday, filed an ethics complaint with the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission and called for an immediate investigation against Judge Carl Marlinga, who is desperately seeking to be the next Democrat nominee for the 10th congressional district after national Democrats failed to recruit a top tier candidate to run against John James.
“It’s clear the fix is within the Democrat Party to get corrupt Carl Marlinga to run as the Democrat standard bearer in the newly drawn 10th congressional district against Republican John James after failing to recruit a top tier candidate,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Communications Director. “The problem here is that, as a sitting judge, Marlinga’s evident political campaign activity is in direct violation of the Michigan constitution. We are filing a complaint with the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission and requesting an immediate investigation into his illegal political activity.”
The new 10th congressional district includes all of southern Macomb County, including Warren and Sterling Heights and goes north past M-59 into Shelby and Macomb townships and Utica. The district also includes portions of Oakland County, like Rochester and Rochester Hills.
