Michigan Republicans Unified and Ready After a Successful Mackinac Conference

Lansing, MI –  Michigan Republicans hosted another successful biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference from September 24-26. Attendance increased significantly from the previous conference with more than 1,600 registrants and a lineup of local, state and national Republican figures attending, a signal of Republican enthusiasm as we look ahead to the 2022 election. “The Michigan Republican Party is all in on defeating the Democrats’ radical agendas,” said MIGOP Chair Ron Weiser. “It was very clear throughout the conference that Michigan Republicans are excited to work with conservative leaders who will be bold in their convictions to protect and strengthen election integrity, lower taxes, and get our economy roaring again. Michigan’s future is bright, and with the right leadership, we can get our state back on track.”Guest speakers included RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, Senator Ted Cruz, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Senator Lindsey Graham, Sean Spicer, Congresswoman Nancy Mace, NRCC Chairman Congressman Tom Emmer, The Honorable Betsy DeVos, former Governor John Engler, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts, Sean Spicer, as well as members of Michigan’s Congressional Delegation, and, for the first time, the conference was sponsored by and included a panel highlighting the Laborers International Union of North America and Operating Engineers.The Detroit News sponsored a straw poll at the conference, asking Republican attendees what issues they found to be most important. The poll found 28% chose election integrity, 25% chose taxes and spending, 11% chose abortion, and 10% chose inflation.
