MIGOP Applauds Republican House And Senate Tax Relief Proposals for Helping Michiganders Combat Historic Inflation, High Tax Rates
LANSING, MICH – The Michigan Republican Party released the following statement after Republican Michigan House and Senate lawmakers proposed tax relief plans that will help Michiganders keep more of their hard-earned money:
“Michigan House and Senate Republicans are working to provide financial relief to Michiganders who continue paying high income tax rates leftover from an era of Democrat mismanagement and failure,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Communications Director. “Slashing the tax rate nearly 9 percent to restore it to its pre-Great Recession figure – a promise made by past lawmakers – will undoubtedly help retirees and working families combat historic inflation and put more of their hard-earned money directly back into their pockets. With Michigan having a tax surplus of $7 billion, passing this relief plan is a no-brainer. If Gretchen Whitmer is serious about combatting the soaring inflation Michiganders are witnessing because of her ally Joe Biden’s failed policies, she will support this legislation immediately.”
