Lansing, MI – The Michigan GOP released the following statement as gas prices hit another new high this week, surpassing record prices from just last week:
“Gas prices have hit yet another high under Gretchen Whitmer and Joe Biden’s economy in Michigan,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. “It’s a continued sign that Democrats don’t have an answer but to force people to pay more for just about everything. Instead of signing bipartisan solutions that would drive the cost of gas down, Gretchen Whitmer instead chose to veto this powerful relief, forcing Michiganders to pay the highest price of gas in recorded history. She’s distracted with ambitions of higher office and not doing the job Michiganders elected her to do but thankfully we’ll change that this fall when we elect a new Republican governor who will focus on bringing immediate relief to Michiganders.”
