MIGOP Blasts Whitmer, Biden for Inflation as Soaring Costs Cause Economic Distress in Michigan
(Lansing, MI) – The Michigan Republican Party released the following statement after a Detroit News article reported that inflation continues impacting grocery store pricing, causing economic distress:
“Americans are witnessing historic levels of inflation – the highest in forty years – thanks to Joe Biden-led supply chain crises and labor shortages,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Communications Director. “Sticker shock on groceries continues to worsen this year, with prices for everyday items like milk and butter skyrocketing over the past three weeks alone. Gas prices continuing to sharply rise, too. When it was politically convenient, Gretchen Whitmer said she was “ridin’ with Biden.” Now, at a time when working families across Michigan are watching inflation wipe out their earnings and hinder their ability to put food on the table, Gretchen Whitmer is hiding from Biden, refusing to hold him accountable for this economic catastrophe confronting Michiganders on a daily basis.
