LANSING, MICH – The Michigan Republican Party released a statement following Gretchen Whitmer’s continued non-commitment on economic relief measures:
“Gas prices seem to hit new, historic highs each and every day – today included – yet Gretchen Whitmer continues to sit on her hands as Michiganders suffer more and more each day,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. “As gas quickly approaches California-style pricing at an average of $4.80 per gallon, Whitmer needs to take a second look at the Michigan Republican plan she recently vetoed, which would effectively reduce the cost per gallon of gas by fifty cents. Rather than help put money back into the pockets of taxpayers, Whitmer chooses apathetic non-commitment on a partisan basis. Michiganders need a governor who doesn’t let her partisanship get in the way of helping the people, and voters are more than ready to voter Whitmer out of office this November.”
