LANSING, MICH — The Michigan Republican Party issued a statement blasting Gretchen Whitmer’s failed policies after the U.S. Commerce Department reported today that Michigan’s GDP growth for 2022 Q1 fell from 5.8 to 0.1 percent:
“The rosy picture that Gretchen Whitmer had painted earlier this year for Michigan is turning out to be the opposite,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. “The information that the Whitmer Administration fed to Bloomberg and the public has since been corrected to depict the state is actually trending in the wrong direction when it comes to our gross domestic product. This continues the downward spiral trend set by her Administration and the terrible policies she put in place over the pandemic and now exacerbated by her friend Joe Biden. The long nightmare that has been the Whitmer Administration will thankfully come to an end this November when Michiganders elect a Republican to usher in opportunity and prosperity for all.”
