LANSING, MICH – The Michigan Republican Party issued the following statement after dangerous election initiative Promote the Vote filed a lawsuit asking the Michigan Supreme Court to make a final determination on the case:
“Promote the vote is a dangerous proposal that threatens to disenfranchise voters and opens the door for fraud,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Deputy Chief of Staff & Communications Director. “The Bernstein family has donated thousands of dollars in an attempt to put this proposal on the ballot, compromising Justice Bernstein’s ability to provide a fair ruling on this matter. He should immediately recuse himself from participating in this case.”
