MIGOP Chairman Weiser Congratulates Republicans on Special Primary Election House Wins

Lansing, MI – Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ron Weiser congratulated Michigan Republicans Terence Mekoski, Mike Harris, and Robert Regan after they won special primary elections in Michigan House Districts 36, 43, and 74.

”I offer my sincere congratulations to Terence, Mike, and Robert for handily winning their primary elections, earning the trust and votes of Michiganders through their commitment to Republican values,” said Ambassador Ron Weiser, MIGOP Chairman. “I have no doubt they will be successful in the May general election, and I look forward to supporting their campaigns against Democrat opponents. Every vote and every election matters, emphasized by the enthusiasm we saw for these races and candidates. It’s imperative we work to defeat Democrats at all levels of government, and I am confident these Republicans will be staunch allies as we work to share our policies and fight to defeat Whitmer, Benson and Nessel in November.”

Terence Mekoski, winner of the Macomb County-based primary election, has spent 34 years as a dedicated law enforcement officer, upholding the Constitution and fighting for Michiganders at every turn. Mekoski is determined to continue that work as the next public servant for District 36 by prioritizing election integrity, defending the unborn, and protecting limited government.

Mike Harris, hailing from Oakland County’s 43rd House District, is committed to being a true public servant for his constituents by standing up for Michiganders and holding big government accountable for overreach. A graduate of the police academy at Delta College, some of Harris’s key issues include the support of first responders, Second Amendment rights, and the improvement of veteran benefits.

Robert Regan, the Republican victor in West Michigan’s 74th House District, has campaigned on a promise to listen to voters and parents, prioritizing education. He is running on a “no new taxes, fines or fees” platform aimed at slowing down big government and addressing the inflation crisis that has hit families across Michigan.
