MIGOP Criticizes Michigan Judge for History of Donating to Pro-Abortion Group

April 15 2022

Lansing, MI – The Michigan GOP released the followed statement after it was revealed Court of Claims Chief Judge Elizabeth Gleicher, assigned a challenge of Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban, has donated regularly to pro-abortion group Planned Parenthood, and also represented them in a 1997 case:

“In order for a judge to apply the law fairly and justly, there is an expectation of impartiality in our judicial system,” said Elizabeth Giannone, MIGOP Deputy Communications Director. “Now that we know Elizabeth Gleicher is an annual and long-time donor of pro-abortion group Planned Parenthood, it is clear her own beliefs are in direct conflict with the case she is set to rule on, putting the most vulnerable among us – the unborn – in danger. Judge Gleicher must recuse herself from this case immediately so that the scales of justice remain balanced, fair, and unprejudiced.”
