MIGOP Issues Statement After New Poll Reveals Whitmer’s Plummeting Approval Ratings

(Lansing, Mich.) – Michigan Republican Party Communications Director Gustavo Portela released the following statement after a new poll conducted by the Michigan Freedom Fund was released on Tuesday showing Michiganders disapprove of the governor’s handling of issues across the state, including the Benton Harbor lead-contamination crisis:

“It’s no surprise that Gretchen Whitmer’s approval ratings continue to plummet as a result of her irresponsible handling of the crisis in Benton Harbor,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Communications Director. “She’s in over her head and has known about the on-going crisis for three years, yet instead of doing her job, she’s out campaigning and gallivanting outside of Michigan breaking the very rules she put in place and encouraged people to follow. We’ll make sure Michiganders see past her out of touch and privileged reality and vote to send her packing next year.”
