Whitmer’s Failure To Fix Roads As Governor Remains A Broken Promise Among Many She Made To Voters

LANSING, MICH – The Michigan Republican Party released its latest ad targeting Gretchen Whitmer for her failure to follow through on one of her most prominent campaign promises – fixing Michigan’s roads.

“Gretchen Whitmer campaigned heavily on this issue in 2018 and has spent the last four years talking nonstop about fixing the damn roads while doing little to actually make auto travel easier for Michigan drivers,” said MIGOP Chairman Ron Weiser. “Sadly, this is something we have come to expect from our governor, who repeatedly flip-flops on issues and fails to see her promises through. Every day, as Michiganders drive to work, school, the grocery store and gas station, they are reminded of Gretchen Whitmer’s failure to follow through.”

The Michigan Republican Party’s latest ad follows one unveiled in February that highlighted exactly how Gretchen Whitmer failed Michigan’s students by prolonging virtual at-home learning. The Michigan Republican Party continues spending early and often to unseat the incumbent governor, whose approval rating continues to plummet in the wake of repeated failures.

“Gretchen Whitmer’s incompetent nature continues to not only put Michiganders in danger on the road but cause financial stress when their cars are damaged due to poor road conditions she failed to fix,” said Ambassador Weiser. “Voters are ready to elect a Republican governor come November, and, most importantly, one who will keep the promises they make.”
