Lansing, MI – The Michigan Republican Party released the following statement after Gretchen Whitmer announced her bid for re-election on Thursday:
“Gretchen Whitmer is putting her ambitions ahead of Michiganders,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Communications Director. “Michiganders are hurting and she has two bills on her desk that would suspend the gas tax and give income tax relief to families struggling. Instead, she announces her re-election with a few people standing behind her. Michiganders are tired of her out-of-touch politics and will vote to retire her this fall putting relief ahead of ambition.”
