MIGOP Releases Statement Following Michigan House Oversight Committee Hearing on Benton Harbor Crisis
(Lansing, Mich.) – Michigan Republican Party Communications Director Gustavo Portela released the following statement after today’s hearing on the Benton Harbor water crisis:
“It’s incredible that it took five tries for Michiganders to get a straight answer from members of Gretchen Whitmer’s administration on the situation happening in Benton Harbor,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Communications Director. “Gretchen Whitmer campaigned on transparency and accountability but we have yet to see this from her. Unfortunately, her failures are continuing to negatively impact real lives making clear that she is in over her head. It’s now time for our lawmakers to step in and get the answers Michiganders deserve to solve this crisis because it’s clear Gretchen Whitmer’s incompetent administration cannot.”
