LANSING, MICH – The Michigan Republican Party released a statement after the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported first-quarter GDP declined at a worse rate than predicted:
“The failed policies of Democrats like Joe Biden and Gretchen Whitmer continue to hold our economy hostage, leaving Americans and Michiganders high and dry as they face unprecedented inflation and gas prices, and, now, possibly a recession,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. “It’s no surprise we remain on the brink of economic collapse as a result of their lack of leadership as they repeatedly put political and partisan ambitions ahead of the people. This November, a red wave will sweep Michigan and the nation as we swiftly fire every Democrat who has led us to this moment, and usher in economic prosperity with common-sense Republican policies.”
CNBC: “First-quarter GDP declined 1.5%, worse than thought; jobless claims edge lower.”
