Lansing, MI – The Michigan GOP released the following statement after an audit revealed the most recent failure of the Unemployment Insurance Agency:
“The latest UIA audit continues to reinforce what we’ve been saying all along,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. “Gretchen Whitmer and her incompetent administration have been asleep at the wheel when it comes to protecting the identities of Michiganders. In addition to sending billions of taxpayer dollars in fraudulent payments, they failed to safeguard sensitive information and perform required background checks on those with access to this private and sensitive information. This administration has been an absolute mess when it comes to addressing the needs of Michiganders who have struggled because of Gretchen Whitmer. We’re adding this to the list of reasons why this November, Michiganders must make Gretchen Whitmer a one term Governor.”
