LANSING, MICH – The Michigan Republican Party released the following statement after a WalletHub comparison showed Detroit ranking last in a list of the best and worst cities to raise a family in America:
“After Democrats like Gretchen Whitmer destroyed the state economy and refused to stick up for Michiganders by supporting Republican-led financial relief measures, it’s sadly no surprise that Detroit sits dead last in a national ranking of the best and worst states for families to live,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. “Family income, crime rates, quality of public education, and number of people living below the poverty line were just some of the metrics used to make this determination. It’s clear Gretchen Whitmer has failed Detroiters once again with her woke liberal policies that have only made it harder to get a quality education and have made the city a more dangerous and expensive place to live. The tide will turn this November when we elect a Republican governor who will put education, families, and economic security ahead of political posturing.”
