MIGOP Slams Elissa Slotkin for Blaming Skyrocketing Inflation on Putin, Neglecting to Address Biden’s Role in Economic Crisis
(Lansing, MI) – The Michigan Republican Party released the following statement after Elissa Slotkin gave an interview in which she blamed the unfolding situation in Eastern Europe for rising gas prices and inflation in the United States:
“Michiganders have been forced to pay more for just about everything in the last year thanks to historic inflation under Joe Biden and Gretchen Whitmer,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Communications Director. “Now, Elissa Slotkin, who has voted in lockstep with deeply unpopular Joe Biden to raise taxes on Michiganders, is taking advantage of political tensions in Eastern Europe by blaming national inflation on the foreign crisis. Where has Elissa Slotkin been this past year as Michiganders suffered and why is she just now acting to do something of value for her constituents? Michiganders won’t be fooled by Joe Biden’s ally, Elissa Slotkin – we’re going to defeat her this fall.”
