LANSING, MICH – The Michigan Republican Party issued the following statement as jobs lost under Gretchen Whitmer’s tenure near 123,000:
“While Gretchen Whitmer continues spewing falsehoods about the state of Michigan’s floundering economy, the data shows the complete picture proving not just the opposite but just how out of touch she is,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. “Since Whitmer took office, Michigan has lost nearly 123,000 jobs. Inflation remains startingly and abnormally high at 8.5 percent – still the highest in 40 years – despite the Democrats’ determination to craft a narrative saying otherwise. The truth is that under Democrats like Joe Biden and Gretchen Whitmer, Americans continue suffering economic loss with no end in sight. This November, Michiganders have a chance to right the sinking ship that Gretchen Whitmer created, by electing Republican Tudor Dixon with a down-ballot red wave to follow.”
