Lansing, MI – The Michigan GOP released the following statement after newly released data from the U.S. Department of Labor showed that under the Whitmer Administration, Michigan lost 1,600 jobs from March to April of this year:
“For the first time in twelve months, our economy has slowed down thanks to terrible policies coming from the Democrat party at the national level supported by Gretchen Whitmer,” said Gustavo Portela, MIGOP Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. “While working families continue to struggle to pay for gas, groceries, heat for their homes, and can barely afford to travel, Gretchen Whitmer spends time in Hollywood with the liberal elite as she auditions for her next job. Thankfully, Michiganders can count on a new Republican Governor this fall to bring back opportunity and prosperity for all, just like we had prior to her election.”
The Michigan GOP-led Legislature this week approved a broad $2.6 billion tax relief plan to bring aid to Michiganders.
