Statement from MIGOP Chair Calling for Resignation of Members of the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission
(Lansing, Mich.) – Michigan Republican Party Chair Ron Weiser has released the following statement after it was revealed that two Democrats have been falsely identifying as Independents to gain seats on the commission:
“The independent redistricting commission has once again shown they are anything but. The recent revelation that two of the “independent” commissioners are Democrat donors is unacceptable. I am calling for the immediate resignation of Anthony Eid and Rebecca Szetela so they can be replaced with actual independent voices. If Jocelyn Benson truly believes in a fair and independent process, she will do the same.”
