Governor Whitmer Vetoes HB 4434

(Lansing, Mich.) – Today, Governor Whitmer once again stood against small businesses by vetoing HB 4434, legislation that would have ended the supplemental $300 being given to those on unemployment.

“After unilaterally shuttering Michigan’s economy over the past year and destroying the livelihoods of countless small business owners and entrepreneurs, Governor Whitmer continues to kick them while they’re down,” said MIGOP Chairman Ron Weiser. “Paying people to stay home and not work while running around the state touting her commitment to small businesses is the height of hypocrisy.”

26 other states across the country have ended the supplemental benefit, encouraging individuals to get back into the workforce.
